Hi and welcome to my site!  I am a wildlife and pet portrait artist based in Hertfordshire, England, working predominantly in pastel.

I graduated in 2008 with a degree in Fine Art, and then went on to work at Madame Tussauds as a wax figure painter. It was whilst working there that I discovered my love of realism and detail. I bought myself a tin of pastel pencils in 2018 and have been hooked ever since!  Alongside pet portraits I also spend lots of my time creating larger scale wildlife pieces. I've always had a passion for wildlife and art and I really value being able to help various conservation projects with my drawings. I am currently represented by Buckingham Fine Art.

"With each piece I create, my goal is to establish a connection between the viewer and the animal, offering a close encounter with creatures that may otherwise be out of reach. Through many intricate pencil strokes, I strive to celebrate the diversity and beauty of wildlife, bringing to life the subtle nuances, textures, colours, and patterns that make each creature truly remarkable and unique."

A few testimonials from my lovely customers

Lioness

Corynn, United States

"Clare was absolutely amazing to work with!  I had some medical issues and she had put aside my piece until I was able to get back to her.  But even more impressive is the artwork itself!  It's absolutely incredible in person!  I cannot recommend her enough as an artist.  I will always cherish "Lioness" as it came to me during a time when I need strength.  Thank you Clare!!!"

Morag, United Kingdom

"A truly stunning piece!  Everything about this purchase was 5 star from the quality of the art itself, all the way through to the seller communication, delivery and packaging.  Highly recommend!"
